For the record, the lace-up tennis shoe is the brand’s very first success. But above all, Serge Bensimon’s best magic trick. In 1978, Bensimon received 100,000 white gym shoes from the French army. Serge dyed them. After much research and a long development process, he perfected a technique capable of dyeing the canvas without spilling over onto the rubber. Paf, inspired by this experience, Serge imagines a new model: the famous lace-up tennis shoe. Iconic, timeless, timeless, unavoidable… The lace-up tennis shoe is like the white shirt: everyone should have (at least) one pair in their wardrobe. A model that has not aged since 1979 and that is still passed on from generation to generation. This is a permanent colour: it goes with everything and has no expiry date.
